The Dundurn Fire Department is comprised of volunteer firefighters and First Responders from the Town of Dundurn, RM of Dundurn, the Resort Villages of Thode and Shields and the Hillcrest Hutterite Colony. Revamped in 1974, the Dundurn Fire Department has been dedicated to serving its communities and attends any emergency including medical, fire, motor vehicle accidents, and also provides medical and fire stand-by for many events.
Letter from the Chair
"The Dundurn and District Fire Commission was formed in 2019 to oversee the operation and funding of the Fire Department. The commission is made up of representatives from the Rural Municipality of Dundurn #314 (3), Town of Dundurn (2), Resort Village of Thode (1), Resort Village of Shields (1). Representation is by population. The Commission has a part time Administrator Jamie Coulson. The funding comes from a levy based on all property owners in this area. The chairman is elected by the board for a two year term."

DUNDURN FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBERS UNDERWENT TRAINING ON HOW TO SAFELY RESPOND TO COVID-19 RELATED EMERGENCIES. THIS INCLUDED OBTAINING ALL THE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) NECESSARY TO DO OUR JOBS SAFELY.
